I was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia what feels like forever ago but was really only 22 short years. Sometimes I don't really count living in Yarmouth because we moved to Middleton before I could even remember. I grew up in the Valley, and strongly consider myself a Valley girl - well, most of the time. I'm not sure if I like small town life or if I'm just used to it by now. I like the quietness, the sleepiness, the small shops, knowing everyone when I'm in town, being able to get meat from the source, the ocean, the farms, how easy it is to relate to everyone else from the area.
When I was 5 years old, I begged my parents to let me take riding lessons. Unfortunately for them (and their bank accounts) they caved. I started taking lessons once a week, leased my first horse at 13, and got my very own at 16. I've had him ever since. Horses are a big part of my life and take up the majority of my time during the summer. Both Jaxon and I have recently discovered a love for barrel racing and have decided to focus entirely on that for 2013 - it should be interesting to say the least.
There are a lot of things that have happened between then and now that have made me into the person I am today, but I honestly don't think I'd be able to pinpoint much of anything. So here we are, the now.
I have two cats, Riggins and Lyla, a dog, Marty, and a horse, Jaxon. Sometimes I pretend our family cat, Fergie, is mine, and sometimes my dad's dog, T-Bone, graces us with his presence. I fully intend of being that girl who has a farm full of dysfunctional and unwanted animals when I grow up. If that ever happens.
Those are the things that most define me as the person I am right at this very second. Other than all of that, I decided a list would probably be acceptable to insert here.
I am addicted to buying shoes that I'll never wear and Lululemon clothing I'll never do yoga in. I am the most accident prone person I know, I embarrass easily, and patience is most definitely not one of my strong suits. I like to think I'm funny, have a tough time keeping my opinions to myself, and I'm not nearly as smart as I think I am.
